In my continuing saga of receiving material from all over Europe and the rest of the world, Slovenia step up to the contest, and I'm actually rather pleased with what the eastern Europeans have conjured up on their re-released debut album. The band was, according to their press release, formed in Maribor (for me, mostly known for their formidable alpine resorts), back in 2002. The material presented on Re-Death is a relatively symphonic and dark form of gothic metal, where both male and female vocals are presented. The dark and brooding male vocals remind me a bit of Peter steele's (Type O Negative), which isn't a bad sign at all. The female version can best be described as "angelic", meaning that it soars above the rest of the material, creating a light and welcomed distance to the otherwise rather dark and atmospheric material.

Another very positive aspect of the band's music, is their tasteful use of the piano. Instead of just using it as an asset to the guitars, they've chosen to incorporate the piano as a driving element, creating a highly melodic and interesting mix of heavy and classical music.

The total playing time of 47 minutes of the release suits me quite perfectly, seeing as this genre often has trouble maintaining my interest if the album clocks in on 50 minutes or more. With an excellent production and very strong song material, I can't see a reason why you shouldn't give Indigo Child a go. Now, go on.
