Considered one of the most socially significant American movies of all time, Black Like Me helped ignite public opinion in support of the burgeoning U.S. Civil Rights movement of the 1950s-1960s. Now out-of-print, the movie depicts the dramatic true story of John Howard Griffin, a white man, who in 1959 used medical treatments to darken the color of his skin. He then set out "to find first-hand what it was like to be a Negro in the Deep South." Through his experiences, Griffin was never the same. America was never the same. And you will never be the same after watching this movie.
