Sam Sparro [born Sam Falson November 8th 1984 in Sydney, Australia] is a producer, songwriter and performer, and former child actor. He is signed to UK-based record label, Island Records. Sparro\'s singing talent was discovered at a young age after he moved with his family to Los Angeles. His father had signed a deal there and was recording a soul album, and took him to a church in Tujunga, LA to hear some of the genre\'s best singers. After hearing Sparro\'s singing through knowing the McCrary family, Chaka Khan became one of his early admirers. His first job as a child actor was in a McDonald\'s commercial. He also appeared on the radio program Adventures in Odyssey. He left Los Angeles and briefly returned to Sydney, before travelling to London, immersing himself in the British music scene. He then had to leave London and returned to Los Angeles, where he took a job in a coffee shop. It was during these low points that he wrote his first single. Sam Sparro\'s father is Chris Falson, a gospel minister and recording artist who has written music for Star Trek and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. While growing up Sam regularly performed backing vocals at his father\'s concerts and on his music releases.
Sam Sparro is the self-titled, debut album by Sam Sparro. It was released in the UK on April 28th 2008, after the success of Sparro\'s debut single, Black And Gold, the song entered the UK Singles Chart at No.23, then climbed to No.4 on the chart and thus far has peaked at No.2, where it has been for 3 non-consecutive weeks. The album [at the time of writing] is at No.5 in the UK Albums Chart. The album contains a hidden track \"Still Hungry\" which I\'ve extracted for your listening convenience.
