Lightshow Magic is a fully automated digital presentation platform that works inside Dreamweaver. It creates beautifully styled shows that can consist of photos, images, content, text, and more. It's perfect for personal multi-media shows and image galleries, as well as powerful business presentations.
-Create: Quickly create a new Lightshow with the automated user interface
-Add: You can insert Lightshows into tables or divs anywhere on your page
-Multiple Lightshows: Insert as many Lightshows per page as you want
-Images or Content: Popup Slides can be images or content-based. Content Slides are available in Dreamweaver Design View for direct editing and can contain any type of markup.
-Content Box Slides: Set the width for Content Slides
-Modify: Each Lightshow on your page can be modified at any time using the Modify Lightshow Magic user interface
-Remove: The included Remove Lightshow command allows you to quickly remove an entire Lightshow from your page
Captions and Descriptions
-Captions: You can set an explicit Caption or allow the system to generate one from your image names or, in the case of a text Slide, the link text from its trigger.
-Descriptions: Appear under the Caption and can include plain text or any valid HTML markup, including images and hyperlinks.
-Popup Description: Descriptions can also be set to appear in a separate animated box positioned to the right of the main Slide. The popup description box can be set to remain persistent on screen, which is useful if all your Slides have descriptions.
-Slide Counter: Appears under the Caption and Description and displays Slide x of x
-Fade: Current Slide fades out then new Slide fades in
-Glide: The current Slide smoothly glides both horizontally and vertically until it reaches the size necessary to display the new Slide. Gliding is smoothly programmed with a custom PVII easing effect that slows the animation down as it reaches its end.
-Glide and Fade (default): A combination of the Fade and Glide animations.
-Start from existing box size (default): Slide animates from its current size to the size required to display the next one. If this option is turned off, the current Slide will disappear and the new Slide will appear based on the animation type (None, Fade, Glide, Glide and Fade) you have selected.
-None: Animation and Fades can be completely turned off.
-Auto Center (default): Slides are centered both horizontally and vertically in the browser window
-Fixed Top: Slides are centered horizontally in the browser window while allowing you to set the top position
-Fixed Left: Slides are centered vertically in the browser window while allowing you to set the left position
-Fixed Top and Left: You set both top and left positions for your Slides, allowing you to position your Slides exactly where you want.
Table of Contents | Navigation Aids | Help
-Table of Contents: Lightshow Magic automatically generates a Table of Contents for the current Lightshow. The TOC can be opened using the TOC icon on the Toolbar, the equivalent shortcut key, or by selecting the Show TOC on Open option in the UI.
-Keyboard Shortcuts: Lightshows are navigable using keyboard shortcuts, which are fully explained in the Popup Help box.
-Popup Help: The Help box describes all the available keyboard shortcuts to assist your visitors in navigating your shows. Help can be opened using the Help (?) icon on the Toolbar, the equivalent shortcut key, or by selecting the Show Help on Open option in the UI.
-Thumbnail Rollovers: By default, rolling over a small thumbnail causes a larger thumbnail to pop up. This option can be turned off in the UI.
Hiding and Showing Elements
-Hide Toolbar: The entire toolbar can be hidden by un-checking Show Toolbar option.
-Hide Caption | Description | Counter: Any or all of these elements can be hidden by setting options in the UI.
-Show TOC on Open: Set the Table of Contents to open when your Lightshow opens.
-Show Help on Open: Set the Help box to open when your Lightshow opens.
Play Options and Modes
-Stop at End of Show: When the last Slide is reached, the Next button (or equivalent keyboard shortcut) is disabled. When the first Slide is reached, the Previous button (or key) is disabled. This option runs in both Auto Play and Normal modes.
-Loop Back to First Slide: The Lightshow loops. Available in Auto Play and Normal modes. In Normal mode, looping is in either direction.
-Close at End of Show: Auto Play mode only. If this option is selected, the last Slide will show for the duration of the Slide Delay setting and then the Lightshow will automatically close.
-Play All Shows on Page: Works in both Auto Play and Normal modes. If your current Lightshow is set with this option, the -Next button (or key) for the last Slide will open the next Lightshow on your page and the Previous button (or key) for the first Slide will open the previous Lightshow on your page. This cycle will continue for all Lightshows on your page, stopping at the end of any Lightshow that is not set to Play All Shows on Page.
-Auto Play on Open: When a Lightshow is launched it will cycle through all Slides in that show using a delay between Slides set with the Slide Delay option.
-Slide Delay: Set the delay between Slides when in Auto Play mode
-Pause on Action: An Auto-Playing Lightshow will switch to Pause mode whenever one of the toolbar buttons or keyboard buttons is clicked (except the Table of Contents and Help Box). Uncheck this box if you wish to continue in Play mode whenever a toolbar or keyboard action is taken.
-Preload Next Image: This feature allows the system to automatically preload the next image, in the background, while the show is running. This is completely transparent to the user and assures that in most situations the next image is ready for display.
-Includes 6 Style Themes: Choose from 6 different pre-defined Style Themes
-Fully Editable: All Themes are fully customizable and can be edited directly in Dreamweaver using the CSS Styles Panel.
-Fireworks Master Images Included: Editable Fireworks images are included to allow you to easily edit any of the included Themes.
-Multiple Styles: Different Lightshows on the same page can share the same style or can each be set to separate style themes.
Lightshow Behavior Suite
-Lightshow Behavior Suite: The system includes a suite of Dreamweaver Behaviors that can be assigned to links anywhere on your page to control various Lightshow actions.
Lightshow Magic requires one of the following Dreamweaver versions:
-Dreamweaver 7.01 (MX 2004)
-Dreamweaver 9 (CS3)
-Dreamweaver 10 (CS4)
-Fireworks version MX (or higher) is required for automatic image processing, as well as for editing toolbar images.
Lightshow Magic is fully functional in modern browsers including:
-MSIE 7 (or higher)
Older browsers degrade gracefully. Content Slides appear inline in the page and image thumbnails link to their associated full-size versions.
