The Pigeon Detectives are a band from Rothwell in Leeds, England, who formed in 2002. They have been championed by such well known DJs as Steve Lamacq and performed at the Reading and Leeds festivals in 2006, where they were tagged "the band most likely to leap to the main stage in 2007” in a NME review. They supported Dirty Pretty Things whilst they toured in Spring 2006 and in early November 2006 they supported fellow West Yorkshire band the Kaiser Chiefs, who are known to be fans of the band, on a number of occasions around Europe.
'Wait For Me' is the debut album of Leeds band, The Pigeon Detectives. The album was released for CD, 12", Heavy Vinyl and Digital Download on May 28th 2007 and charted in the UK album chart at No.3 in its first week of release. The album was recorded in Autumn 2006, produced by Will Jackson [Kaiser Chiefs/Embrace] and mixed by Cenzo Townshend [Kaiser Chiefs/Bloc Party/Snow Patrol] and Steve Harris [U2/The Automatic]. The album sees the band deliver an urgent mix of up-tempo British indie rock, taking influence from the likes of The Clash, The Libertines and The Kinks. The singles 'I'm Not Sorry', 'I Found Out' and 'Romantic Type' are included.
