Install and enter your zip code when asked, this allows the program to know where you are located and it shows the trace of bounces between you and the ip address of whoever sent you an email or wants you to click on a link, and it will tell you where that link really is.
To use it; Just copy the last ip shown from an emails raw view, paste it into the target window, hit enter & let Neotrace do the work and show you the true origin of that piece of spam.
Curious where a hyperlink is taking you? right click on the link and paste that into neotrace & it will show you where in the world you would be going to.
Neotrace was developed by NeoWorx but was bought by McAfee and none of the links to what used to be online help work anymore but they do take you to McAfee who doesn't seem to support this really neat program.
There's other programs to tell you the same info but Neotrace makes it really easy.
Not that it really matters but it is interesting to find out where your spam really is coming from.
