XAMPP is an integrated server package containing Apache, MySQL, PHP, Mail and FTP server and many more applications useful for maintaining and developing a website.

XAMPP is really very easy to install and to use - just download, extract and start. Everything is pre-configured and ready to go.
This package needs no installation and contains only Open Source software (= free full version, no Spyware or Adware).

Tomcat and Perl are available as Add-Ons, as well as a lightweight package version.
XAMPP Lite contains no Mail and FTP server, only the needed web server software (Apache, MySQL, PHP 5):
