Torrent description

WhereMyDVD 2008 1.3.1

WhereMyDVD 2008 is the ultimate CD organizer for Windows OS. It enables you to catalog and keep track of a personal disk collection quickly and easily. WhereMyDVD indexes any kind of data, including installation disks, magazine CD-ROMs, audio CDs, video DVDs, music collections in MP3, image collections and data backups. The program has a multilingual support and available in English, Czech, Spanish, Dutch, Croatian, and Slovak. It\'s also possible to rejuvenate the interface with a new skin when the old one becomes stale.

Features:

-Catalog Disks Quickly and Easily
Cataloging disks is fairly easy. Just run WhereMyDVD, insert a disk you want to catalog into your CD-ROM drive and click “Scan New Disk”. In a second, the program will read the disk, record its name, serial number and index all the files on it. After that you’ll only have to type in its publisher, disk description (and its location), date of creation or purchase and assign the disk profile to one of the 10 categories, such as Archive, Backup, Games, Music, etc. Continue to register your disk collection in the same manner until you’ve done them all and that’s it.

-Locate Disks and Files in Seconds
With WhereMyDVD, finding any disk or file can be pretty much a snap. Simply browse through the ordered list of disk profiles, select the profile and find out where you put the disk in the Disk Info description (provided that you specified it before). Let’s say, for example, you need a CD to re-install your monitor driver but forgot where you put it. Run WhereMyDVD, click on the “System” category and find the disk profile there. If the database is too large to browse or you need a particular file, go to the Find Files tab, enter the word related to what you are looking for into the finder form and click “Search”. In a blink of an eye, it’ll return the disk profile that meets your search criteria. With WhereMyDVD 2008, you will no longer have to open and close jewel cases as you search through the piles of unlabeled disks in the disk boxes.

-Keep Track of Your Loaned Disks
Your DVD or CD collection represents a significant investment of your hard earned dollars. With the WhereMyDVD’s “Loaned Discs” feature, you can lend out disks and WhereMyDVD will remind you to whom you lent them and when they are due back.

-Move and Share Your Database without Hassles
WhereMyDVD makes it easy for you to move your database to another desktop computer or a laptop. To begin, you export the database to a file in the proprietary format – .cdc. Then install a copy of WhereMyDVD onto another computer and load the file into it. But that’s not all. The program lets you generate HTML pages of your database or search results for sharing them with other collectors on your personal website or by printing them to paper.

-Compress Database for Smaller Size
WhereMyDVD can compress a large database to make the file smaller so it takes up less room on your hard drive or a USB drive and makes the moving of your database file to another computer more efficient. To compress the database, you should go to Compression Settings and set up the maximum file size for the uncompressed data. The program compresses data using the algorithm similar to the one used in WinZip. (Please, note the smaller is the maximum file size for uncompressed data, the smaller is the database size, so it takes more time to load the database (actually for old computers, a-la Celeron 500 MHz).
