TorrentDrudge is a bittorrent RSS feed reader / download tool.
It is written in Java/SWT (as Azureus) . You will need a Java Runtime Environment 1.4 or higher to run it. Get it from SUN at http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp
TorrentDrudge should be run 24h to not miss out on any torrents. It resides in the system tray and notifies you when there are n new torrents to check out at your favorite sites.
TorrentDrudge was created to reduce the time consuming task of obsessivly checking bittorrent sites for new releases. TorrentDrudge is for those who don't want to miss anything interesting.
The filtering capabilities of TorrentDrudge can be used to hide all torrents but those that interests you, only porn, psychedelic music, shareware or whatever flots your boat :)
If TorrentDruge complains about feeds not beeing wellformed, please complain to the site owners.
* Add bittorrent sites and specify how frequently their RSS-feeds should be
polled for new releases. Sites which require login with cookies are also
* Define filters. Maybe you don't want to see all the porn or maybe you're
tired of the foreign stuff or console games.
* Download torrents to your local machine, or if you want to browse on one
computer and download on another, you may setup an FTP account and have the
viewer send torrents to your FTP server at a click. The torrentfile can be
picked up and downloaded by Azureus at the receiving computer. Browse at work
and download at home :)
* Weblinks from torrent descriptions are extracted and made available in the
context menu of torrents. Very useful for IMDB links etc.
* Searching The Piratebay
* CGI-Proxy support makes it possible to bypass evil webfilters.
TorrentDrudge has been tested on Windows only. Therefore I choose to distribute a Windows installer only. It is written in java and should work on all platforms that has a full featured SWT distribution, but there may be need for some adjustments. You could install on a Windows machine and take the files from the installed directory to run it on your platform if you'd like to.
TorrentDrudge was developed using SWT/JFace, Eclipse, Azureus, The Azureus RSS Feed Scanner, Apache Jakarta commons and some unknown guys little icon.
