Amerie Mi Marie Rogers was born on January 12th 1980 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, to an African father and a Korean mother. She is known professionally as Amerie and is a Grammy Award-nominated American RnB singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and model.

'Because I Love It' is the third studio album by American RnB singer Amerie and has been two years in the making. Originally set for an Autumn 2006 release and originally to be called 'None Of The Above', the album has now been completed and is scheduled for release on May 14th 2007 in the United Kingdom and on July 17th 2007 in the U.S.

'Take Control' is the first single released from the album. The song features Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo, who wrote and produced it. The music video, which contains liberal references to the 1960s cult film Blowup, was shot in late October 2006.
