The video for 'Disturbia' was filmed in late June 2008. It is directed by Anthony Mandler and co-directed by Rihanna. The edgy video begins with Rihanna spinning in a chair, followed by a scene where she is trapped in a cage, wearing a short blonde wig and light blue contact lenses which cover her scleras entirely. There are additional scenes of her using an electric chair as a throne-style chair, covered in chains, flanked by two dancers. When the chorus begins, Rihanna is lifted into the air by her dancers in front of a bright light. In the video Rihanna is also covered with spiders wearing a see-through bodysuit along with a mask and trapped in a fire. When she sings "Release me from this curse I'm in. Trying to maintain but I'm struggling" Rihanna is seen in a small cell with her hands and feet chained to the floor, struggling to escape. The video was choreographed by Rihanna's long time choreographer, Tina Landon.
