County Hospital - 1932 - Excellent picture quality with original titles all round (even the MGM logo!) on the standard late 1930's reissue print. There are no director or technical credits either or opening gag title - these were all dropped on reissue. The background music was culled from the Our Relations score to bring it bang up to date (by 1936 standards anyhow!). There is also an alternative colourised version of this film.
Them Thar Hills - 1934- Very sharp picture and sound plus and original titles. However there is a slight loss of sound when Stan hands Ollie the whisk to open the tin of beans. Overall it looks as good as new! There is also an alternative colourised version of this film.
Tit For Tat - 1935- The sequel to Them Thar Hills is presented here in fine form with original titles, good picture and sound. There is also an alternative colourised version of this film.
Perfect Day - 1929- The usual reissue version from 1936 reissue. For this the main titles were refilmed, the gag intro was dropped and a new music score was added. Picture quality and sound are very good. Watch out for the scene where Ollie panics at the approach of a clergy man and Uncle Edgar lets slip an expletive! I can see you all fast forwarding your DVD copy now to find out which one he used! (Should this film not have been classified as PG!) There is also an alternative colourised version of this film.
They Go Boom - 1929- Original opening titles plus opening music Runnin' Wild, a hit at the time the movie was made. The climactic explosion of the mattress appears to have been overdubbed with a louder explosion. Curiously there is no colourised version of this film.
Leave 'Em Laughing - 1928 (silent)- The remade title cards immediately disappoint and picture quality is very poor indeed. The inter titles have been replaced all round. Far better material can be found on the Lost Films Of Laurel and Hardy series in the US.
