Think Floyd consist of:

Lewis Hall (bass), Richard Morse (guitar), Steve Farmer (drums) and Rick Melville (keyboards), plus the amazing voice of singer Hayley Sanderson who can currently be heard singing the Thunderclap Newman song "Something in the Air" on the 'Talk Talk' adverts


Rick Melville:

There is definitely something of the professor about Think Floyd’s erudite Keyboard player Rick Melville. Classically trained on piano and organ, Rick sang in a cathedral choir, and learned to make dubious noises on the oboe "to get out of games lessons". Attracted to rock in a big way by hearing Focus’s "Moving Waves", Rick grew his hair long and, to prove he was no softie, formed a pop group. Village halls throughout Gloucester were wowed by extended stylophone solos and huge speaker cabinets (most of them empty…).
At Cambridge, participation in murky sounding bands, (Ken Wood & the Mixers was one!), passed the time between music lectures and choir practice. Today he divides his time between producing, arranging, conducting orchestras for bands, and teaching music. Under his other name (Richard Benbow) he has worked with the likes of Jewel, Sneaker Pimps, Ishtar, the Mighty Wah! and Simon Warner.
And then of course, there is Think Floyd. "I remember going to the cinema and seeing ‘Live at Pompeii’, which was utterly stunning", recalls Rick. "Think Floyd has been tremendously fulfilling. I love large crowds, and gigs like the Queen Elizabeth Hall (sold out!), Dubai Aviation Club and the Gravesend Riverside festival have given us the chance to reach large numbers of fans at a time”
Rick has recently added new keyboards and sound modules to his setup mainly to meet the demands of playing The Wall live. Favourite Floyd track: Echoes. Other favourite bands: King Crimson, Genesis, Cardiacs, Gentle


Lewis Hall:

Think Floyd's youngest member started his professional career working in various guises at the Key Theatre in Peterborough. As a Bass guitarist he has performed in numerous Key musicals including 'Fame', 'Material Girl Of Venice' & 'The Merry Wives Of Motown' as well as eight Pantomimes & various cabaret style musical evenings.

As a musical director Lewis has worked on 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Miss Saigon', 'Little Shop Of Horrors', 'A Slice Of Saturday Night' & 'Guys & Dolls'. Lewis has also worked as a musical leader for various stage-school programmes for youngsters based at the Key Theatre & The Radlett centre.
Lewis has played in various Rock, Blues and function bands including a Jimi Hendrix band with drummer Steve! He also enjoys writing & recording music and plays many instruments.
Lewis says his Bass playing influences come mainly from Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones. But his main musical influences are quite diverse, including Ben Folds Five, Steely Dan, Simon & Garfunkel, Aphex Twin and Burt Bacharach. Plus Pink Floyd of course!

Richard Morse:

Richard Morse has been a guitarist and Pink Floyd fan since an early age. As a teenager he played in an original rock band who's set at one time included 'In The Flesh' and 'Another Brick In The Wall'. Their list of gigs regularly included London venues such as the Marquee. After leaving that band Richard continued to play in covers bands whose styles ranged from Blues to Acoustic Rock, but nothing as dedicated as a tribute band.
In the year before joining Think Floyd Richard attempted to start his own Floyd tribute, this didn't get past rehearsals due to some band members having heavy musical commitments elsewhere but it was at these rehearsals in SE London where he saw Think Floyd's advert looking for a guitarist. He made the call and was soon playing his first gig with Think Floyd to over 3000 people at the Peterborough Beer Festival in August 2003.
Richard first time became aware of Pink Floyd watching the Knebworth festival on TV during the summer of 1990 during the dying days of the 'Delicate Sound Of Thunder' tour. Richard says "It's fair to say that for quite some time I have been obsessed with the Gilmour guitar style. When asked to name a favourite Floyd track, album or Gilmour guitar solo, I always struggle, so here are a few of my favourites: 'Time', 'Shine On', 'Wish You Were Here', 'Comfortably Numb'. Favourite album? 'Wish You Were Here', although that will probably change next week!"


Steve Farmer:

Steve took up drumming professionally in 1989 on the advice of the schools careers advisor who said "You'll never make a living as a musician!" Drumming was in the blood as both father & uncle played semi-pro in the 60s & 70s.
Steve's first jobs were on holiday camps during the summer's resident band work & cabaret backing. This led to touring the clubs of the north east, Yorkshire, Wales & Europe. Even a tour supporting the mighty Black Lace!
The next move was rock band "The Vow" with whom Steve spent the late 90s chasing the Rock & Roll dream. The experience of touring & studio work was invaluable & exciting but the chase came to no avail.
So Steve moved to various recording sessions, live work & teaching. Eventually playing drums for the Key Theatre Pantomine over Christmas 2002 where he met Lewis. The pair started working together the following summer in a Jimi Hendrix band until Steve joined Think Floyd late 2003.
Steve says "Floyd music has been with me since the mid 80s when I first heard 'Dark Side Of The Moon' along with 'Wish You Were Here'. My favourite tracks are 'Brain Damage', 'Lucifer Sam' & 'Dogs'." .


Hayley Sanderson:

Hayley started singing at the age of seven and by twelve she was gigging with her Uncle’s soul band around Peterborough. She moved to London at 19 to join a band and had the honor of working with Narada Micheal Waldon (Producer for Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey) and Nile Rodgers (David Bowie, Diana Ross) on several projects.
During this time she has also worked with the New Inspirational Gospel Choir and sang the lead vocal on ‘Down to the River’ which appeared on the album with Mica Paris and Jocelyn Brown. They made appearances including ‘Soul In The City’ at Alexandra Palace and 'Songs of Praise'. On ITV’s 'Disco Mania' Hayley performed as Gloria Gaynor’s backing vocalist on the track ‘I will survive’. Hayley is a regular at Ronnie Scott's in London with Jazz / Soul band The Leo Green Experience and has recently recorded with Marti Pellow and can currently we heard singing Thunderclap Newman's 'Something In The Air' on the Talk Talk TV commercials.
Hayley enjoys writing & recording music and plans to bring out her own
