An ode to human misery, this film is a challenging story of a group of misfits who, run into the ground by emotional, economic or political hardship, escape to a shack in the middle of a desolate landscape for comfort.

The pessimism of the characters’ future is successfully conveyed not only by the limited yet carefully selected use of dialogue but also by long and stunning shots of the sweeping landscapes of the Crimea.

Part of Cannes Film Festival’s 2005 Director’s Fortnight, Seven Invisible Men yet again seals the reputation of Sharunas Bartas as a respected director who makes accomplished, staggering films that bear closer resemblance to works of art.


This copy has burnt-in Time Code and hard-burnt french subs. I decided to upload this because this film is very hard to find, and yet very important for people interested in Bartas' work. The lack of English subs - that is, until someone makes them :) - shall not be too much of a problem as in much of Bartas' work, spoken text is not essential.
