MioMap v3 available now for the Mio PDA and PDA Phone product range
MioMap v3 is next-generation software which features high-speed route recalculation, fluid zooming and panning, highly detailed, animated map display, as well as integrated speed camera database and TMC support. The software is shipped together with Tele Atlas maps (2006.1) of Western Europe; maps of Eastern Europe and US area also available.
Other improvements include a simpler and more intuitive user interface, which makes any PDA feel quicker and more responsive. Use of the device is also made simpler by larger buttons, reducing the need for a stylus.
The speed camera data base includes locations of all known fixed speed cameras, as well as the likely sites of mobile ones. New locations can be added by the user when new cameras are placed. It is even possible to synchronise Mio products with the MioMap database to download the latest locations, added by other members of the Mio user community.
All versions of MioMap v3 are available in retail, as well as through the Mio Technology’s web shop.
About the P550
The Mio P550 GPS PDA comes ready for navigation straight out of the box. In addition to WiFi and Bluetooth – features you’d expect from an advanced PDA – it also has the highly sensitive SiRFstar III GPS antenna built in.
Among key features of the P550 are the 400 MHz processor, 192 MB of on-board memory, and expandable memory of up to 2 GB with an SD card. Mio P550 runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 and contains the entire suite of Microsoft’s business applications for PDAs
