GAG is a very sexy and full-of-laughter comic adventure game developed by a less-known Russian gaming house. Unfortunately, this graphic adventure was poorly marketed in Europe after it was released in Russia and it's really hard to find this game in Western Europe or the USA. The game introduction sequence explains your nightmare, showing the involvement of Marquise Margo de la Bourbon, the young and seductive wife of Marquis de la Bourbon, retired airforce fighter pilot and a drunkard, with a group of Satan-Worshipers known as the Dark Brothers. Margo loves to practice witchcraft and gathers occult items and that's why she has been chosen by the Dark Brothers to aid them in their evil plans to destroy the peace in society.
You play as Gary Tusker, a secret service agent specialized in averting the religious distortions. Our hero has a complex fate, a very gloomy past and a bitter present. He was once bitten near his abdomen by a poisonous teeth penguin while studying at Antarctic Academy for Secret Agents, which resulted in his total impotency. Now, Gary is assigned by Lucy, his lovely boss and also his one-sided love to investigate the mysterious and satanic activities taking place in the dark Castle de la Bourbon. Gary's fate is now in your hand and only you can help him save the city from the satanic plans of the Dark Brothers and the evil creatures hiding in every sewer of the city, and also aid him in finding an antidote for his impotency.
GAG's excellent pre-rendered 3D graphics are quite dated by today's standard. They include water effects, superimposing of full-motion-video over still backgrounds, fumes and blast effects and some breathtaking 3D animated cut-scenes. The game is fully packed with quirky cut-scenes, which can be seen by clicking different items in every scene. On the dark side, the game has four challenging mini-arcade games, which the player has to win by selecting a level of endurance. A weak point in the game is the poor quality of voice acting, which doesn't sync well with the character's lip movement and gives a similar feeling as when you are watching a foreign film that is dubbed in English. On the puzzle side, the game has some of the best and very unique puzzles, which varies from easy to very difficult to solve. The quality of sound and music is well done and quite appropriate for every scene. All in all, GAG is a wonderful and entertaining adventure game and should not be missed by serious and die-hard adventure gamers.
Sorry guys, this game and all of its subtitles are in Russian. It's one of my favorite adventures, although keep in mind that it has some explicit stuff and should be rated +16. If you speak Russian you'll have great fun, that's for sure. It has the best tetris ever :-D I had no problems running it under Windows XP, just set your color depth to 16 bit.
