The DVD's



The core of the Learn And Master Piano Home Study Course is its video instruction. This comes to you on fourteen fully produced DVD's, each packed with lessons designed to guide you step-by-step on your road to mastery of the keys.



Each of the many lessons contains an instructional portion where Grammy-winning pianist Will Barrow teaches you the day's concepts in detail, followed by a workshop time where you practice them together playing popular songs you already know. The on-screen graphics make it easy to follow along. There's even an animated keyboard which shows exactly what is being played.

DVD to AVI Conversion Info



Original VOB title-sets were mixed format, half interlaced and half progressive making IVTC near impossible. VOBs were also ordered differently in different volumes making automated conversion impossible. After many trials it was concluded that the best results for overall quality were obtained by leaving the framerate at 29.970 fps - thus preventing severe glitching due to dropped frames through the progressive VOB sections.



Audio was extracted to WAV's, 50% noise reduction was applied (half the audio had mains hum/buzz, the other half had significant hiss) ... All audio was normalized to -16db with equal loudness contour and encoded to MP3 then muxed into the final AVI's.



Graphic screen captures from the original DVD menus are included with each volume for reference and for anyone wishing to convert the AVI files back to DVD format to include the original menus for basic Session and Workshop navigation.



Each of the 14 AVI files in the complete set are proportionally sized relative to the run-times of the original DVD volumes in 2 groups (1 to 7 and 8 to 14) so that they will fit neatly onto 2 x DVD-5's or neatly onto the two layers of 1 x DVD-9 for archiving or for playback on MPEG4 - DIVX / XVID compatible standalone players.
