IMPORTANT - You can't download this first simple version directly to your iPhone / iPod... it must go on via your computer.

When you buy 'The iSnort', this first version comes as a simple M4V movie and works on any iPhone / iPod... cracked or not. Yes this version is a "simulated" App in the form of a movie file. The fully functional one is in development and will be issued when it's done. To get operating... drag and drop the 'iSnort.m4v' into your iTunes 'Movies' section. Next, sync your iPhone or iPod and tick / select to transfer the 'iSnort.m4v' onto your iPhone / iPod. Remember this plays as a simple movie and you just simulate the motions. When it's done right it's beautifully convincing.

This lo-fi, but highly effective version, requires a small amount of skill and good comic timing. All you have to do is practice it about twenty times in front of the mirror and you're away... Once you get the timing and your schpeel right on this version... you're laughing (at your baffled mates).

Yes, this version is a simulated App and I agree that it's a highly simplistic solution, but it's a remarkably effective version... and the unique selling point of the movie is that (if faked well) it does what an iPhone / iPod currently can't do - which is react to paper and plastic.

Give this first version a toot... Practice it and learn how to use it. Have a bit of fun with it. It really bamboozles other iPhone / iPod freaks to the point of distraction. But make sure you don't show them how the gag operates. Try it out.. it really works.

The real-deal App is on the way... our developers have been working on it for months now. It's very complicated because the iPhone / iPod doesn't naturally react to the paper of the note or the credit card.

I'll be sending the 'App' out to all my current (happy - Coke & Smile) customers when it's done. Please be patient and I'll keep you posted.

PLEASE READ THE 'INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE' CAREFULLY...

To operate this version of The iSnort to it's full effect...

When I have a decent audience around me and everyone is telling jokes or whatever... and with my iPhone / iPod already in one hand I always say... "I have something that'll give you a kick that I'd like to share with you" and I pull out my wallet, taking a credit card and a pre-rolled US $100 bill. "It has to be a Benjamin" I boast. You'll find that this action alone has strange effects on people. Glances will be shot, eyebrows will be raised, knowing / guilty looks will be exchanged.

I always open by saying (in a Tony Montana voice) "Say hello to my little friend" and point the iPhone screen towards the audience, while at the same time running my finger back and forth across the 'Slide to Unlock' interface - without actually opening the iPhone. This is just to demo the touch-screen attributes of the hardware - especially for people who've never experienced the tactile delights of an iPhone / iTouch. I then turn the iPhone towards myself, Slide to Unlock and quickly go (in the lowest number of actions) to The iSnort in the Videos in the iPod. As soon as I've hit play I quickly turn the iPhone straight up to face the audience to show them the fake iPhone interface.

I then quickly draw their attention to The iSnort icon... "My Little Friend". I then pretend to touch the icon (don't actually touch the screen 'cause the play bar comes up and blows the effect... if this does happen turn the screen towards yourself and stop immediately, starting the whole thing over... if you dismiss your gaff as a techy thing the audience won't notice / care).

So when you've successfully faked the touching of the icon you quickly change the the position of the iPhone so that it is flat to reveal "isnort" in digital coke on the screen... after all you don't want to spill the precious digi-powder. If you do this right the audience will also briefly see the quick "App Open" transition from the iPhone interface to the powdered words on the screen.

There's enough time in the sequence for the audience to read the word and for the full realisation of what's going on to click. At this point you must be ready to convincingly chop the word into three lines. Try doing this in the mirror so that you can see the act from the audiences perspective. I always do the nearest one first then the back one and then the middle one. I use the card to mask / hide the ropey animation. You have to then be ready to immediately and convincingly snort the lines. I've allowed enough time to do all three... with a giant and quick snort for the last line.

Once the last line has been snorted you swiftly turn the iPhone upright again to reveal the brand name "iSnort" and beautifully timed punchline "I Can't Believe It's Not Cocaine". At this point I'm usually rubbing my nostrils and sniffing while the audience is laughing. I find that I also have to hold the iPhone out close to the audience so they can read it. I also find I have to draw their attention to the words by repeating "Check it out" and making sure they read the extra joke.

The very last thing that I want the audience to see is the fake application closing down to the fake iPhone interface. I quickly turn the iPhone to face myself before putting it away... while still making snorting noises and altering my behavior. "I'll be talking bollocks for the next four hours" I offer.

I never show them how it works or email them the MP4... I just point them towards www.TheiSnort.com site. Let them get their own digital drugs. That will help us with development and keep the number of people who have it to the selective few. The problem with the iPint is every fucker has it and everyone has seen it... so it's not unique / fresh anymore.

Give this first version a toot... Practice it and learn how to use it. Have a bit of fun with it. FURTHER TECH HELP

You've dragged and dropped 'The iSnort' m4v Movie file into the Movies section of iTunes... yes?

When you connect your iPhone to your computer... iTunes opens and your iPhone appears under 'DEVICES... yes?

In iTunes you've clicked on the iPhone icon under 'Devices' and the details of your iPhone appears on the right in iTunes... yes?

The menu says 'Summary', 'Info', 'Ringtones', 'Music', 'Photos', 'Podcasts' and 'Video'... yes?

You click on 'Video' and the choices are 'Rented Movies', 'TV Shows' and 'Movies'... yes?

So you then tick / select the 'Sync Movies' button and scroll down and tick / select the iSnort.m4v and then hit the 'Sync' or 'Apply' botton to make the transfer... yes?

You then disconnect your iPhone and view 'The iSnort' simulator through your Movies in your iPhone.

It's just a matter of practicing the moves in the instructions to perform the gag.

After a few practice runs in private, had the courage to try it out in my
local.

More successful than I ever imagined, might have been something to do with
the amount of alcohol previously consumed by the audience rather than my
performance!

Only one person spotted the flaw in the app, managed to avoid discussing
that further.

Another bonus was that a few people wanted to buy me a drink afterwards,
think I got my ?5 back.
