Thats the designer's motto in the creation of this game.

Anyone who has ever played Elite back in the wire frame days will definitely see similarities here in overall goal. This is a sandbox space flight game that simulates the whole aspect of controlling a ship and every system on it to their fullest, to perhaps leading an intergalactic trade empire comprised of many space stations. Notice i didn't say space flight sim. Dont expect this to be a Freespace-like game. Controlled much more like a game similar in scope called Freelancer by Microsoft. You use the keyboard and mouse to fly your ships, be them small interceptors or massive capitol ships brimming with guns or cargo containers. The interface, while confusing at first, works quite well.

Ah yes, the interface... Perhaps the most daunting face of this complicated game to new players. Everything seems at first to be... just a bi backwards. As though the creators had just a slightly different line of thinking on how things should work. It *is* daunting, but i promise, to those that are dedicated enough to read a bit about the game and devote some time to learning a new set of skills, you will find an amazing game underneath.

Amazingly deep, too. This game is designed to have replay value. I seriously doubt you could ever have exactly the same game twice, in this wide open world, that reacts to what you do, and also tries to throw its own plans into motion. Only one actual "mode" of game play has a true storyline, and even that one, you can leave at any time to go off and do your own thing. Also you have the freedom to come pick up said storyline again at any time. Nice touch.

Outside of the storyline, however is a much different story. A moving, breathing world is out there around you. What do you wanna do? Go Be a mercenary, guarding caravans of precious cargo from pirates. Be the traders themselves, driving the big ships with their whole investment in their cargo bays praying to make it to the next stop, where a new empire will begin to unfold. Or be the pirates, constantly on the move and always on the lookout for the military and local police force.

This game lets you do any of these, and many more at any time. There is no distinction between "classes" you simply do what you feel, and truly only the players own aptitude, and luck will prevent you from anything in this game.

The graphics are great. For being a game that came out in the mid 2000's, the graphics still compete fairly well for the genre, which there is not much of. The only complaint i have about the presentation is the sometimes laughable, sometime horrid voice acting. Again, however, one can let these things go once they discover the gem of a game here.

Oh, and yes, you heard right... the "evil alien insurgents"? They're called the "Kha'ak"

Enjoy the game, folks. It truly is great, and the package has everything you need to install, update it to the latest, most expanded content, version, and play. I also included the latest manual, because you most assuredly, will need to read that and probably more to really understand this game. Do some searching, forums are your friend.
