Hmmm ... what can I say about this? I saw JH at the Detroit/Montreaux Jazz Fest quite a few years ago. JH plain blew me away. An incredible artist on the bass guitar.
This torrent includes to very short instructional book(lets) about 40 pgs each.
Chord Basics is a bunch of chord diagrams for all varieties and inversions playable on the 4 string bass. Actually kind of handy and informative.
Thumb Basics is a short tutorial on thumb and slap technique. Staring from the most basic thumb stroke and building from there.
A mp3 is included that goes with thumb basics however ... It was ripped from one of those little tear-out plastic records that used to come in some magazines. Those of you who were around to see Star Trek before it went into reruns will know what I'm talking about. In the spirit of full disclosure ... there are no tracks on the single mp3 and there are about 40 examples of about 20-30 secs each. Kind of a pain but, all for the sake becoming the worlds smokin-est bass player. Worth it don't you think?
