REPORT PROBLEMS
As this is a test release , it would be much apprieciated if you can log any success's or failure's
along with your CPU type (Athlon64 , Turion , Opteron) and details of any problems to
catman@lazydragon.org . Specifically segfaults , X11 crashes + DRI problems .

Below gives a brief description of some of the packages included with lazydragon-v2 .

NON-LINEAR VIDEO EDITORS
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Cinelerra-2.1 CV : Cinelerra takes what normally is a boring server - studied in computer science classrooms,
hidden in back offices - and turns it into a 50,000 watt flamethrower of multimedia editing. Cinelerra does
primarily 3 main things: capturing, compositing, and editing audio and video with sample level accuracy.
Cinelerra is more stable in a 64 bit operating system than a 32 bit operating system. The reason is
intermediate address calculations start screwing up at around 512MB on a 32 bit system. Fortunately Cinelerra
and Linux are now fully functional on the dew-opp. The dual Opteron, that is.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
LiVES-0.9.2.8 : LiVES began in 2002 as the Linux Video Editing System. Since it now runs on more operating
systems, LiVES is a Video Editing System. It is designed to be simple to use, yet powerful. It is small in
size, yet it has many advanced features. LiVES lets you start editing and making video right away, without
having to worry about formats, frame sizes, or framerates. LiVES will let you start creating your own tools,
utilities and effects via the built in RFX builder.
LiVES is aimed at the digital video artist who wants to create their own content, the video editor who wants
to produce professional looking video, and the VJ who wants to captivate with spectacular images.
KDEnlive-0.4: Kdenlive is a video editing GUI for KDE using the MLT video framework. Kdenlive provides dual
video monitors, a multi-track timeline and clip list. Other features include customizable layout support,
basic effects and transitions . Editing in Kdenlive is possible with various tools via the timeline and video
monitors, allowing you to move and resize one or more clips, and razor clips into two. All timeline tools can
snap to clip start/ends and the current seek position. Kdenlive communicates with a render engine which
handles the actual video data.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
KINO-0.9.5: Kino is a non-linear DV editor for GNU/Linux. It features excellent integration with IEEE-1394
for capture, VTR control, and recording back to the camera. It captures video to disk in Raw DV and AVI
format, in both type-1 DV and type-2 DV (separate audio stream) encodings. You can load multiple video
clips, cut and paste portions of video/audio, and save it to an edit decision list (SMIL XML format). Most
edit and navigation commands are mapped to equivalent vi key commands. Kino has won a
2006 LinuxQuestions.org Members Choice Award for the Video Authoring Application of the Year category.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

VIDEO PLAYERS/RENDERING ENGINES.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

MPlayer/Mencoder: MPlayer is a movie player which runs on many systems (see the documentation). It plays most
MPEG/VOB, AVI, Ogg/OGM, VIVO, ASF/WMA/WMV, QT/MOV/MP4, RealMedia, Matroska, NUT, NuppelVideo, FLI, YUV4MPEG,
FILM, RoQ, PVA files, supported by many native, XAnim, and Win32 DLL codecs. You can watch VideoCD, SVCD,
DVD, 3ivx, DivX 3/4/5 and even WMV movies. The current build for Lazy64 has been patched to support 64bit
real-media codecs . MEncoder is a free command line video decoding, encoding and filtering tool released
under the GNU General Public License. It is a close sibling to MPlayer and can convert all the formats that
MPlayer understands into a variety of compressed and uncompressed formats using different codecs. Lazy64
comes with many GUI frontends to mencoders encoding capabilities , including 'acidrip' & 'OGMRip' .
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
XINE: xine is a free multimedia player. It plays back CDs, DVDs, and VCDs. It also decodes multimedia files
like AVI, MOV, WMV, and MP3 from local disk drives, and displays multimedia streamed over the Internet.
It interprets many of the most common multimedia formats available - and some of the most
uncommon formats, too.

Developers Mailing List, but works on a variety of other platforms. It is used in many free audio software
projects and there is a wide range of LADSPA plugins available. LazyDragon X86_64 comes with almost
