Introduction:

Total Annihilation (abbr. TA) is a futuristic RTS (real-time strategy) PC game, created by Chris Taylor and Cavedog Entertainment and released on September 30, 1997 by GT Interactive. It was the first to feature 3D units and terrain, a significant achievement in the days before graphics cards with hardware-based 3D acceleration became commonplace. Two expansion packs were released, The Core Contingency on April 30, 1998 and Battle Tactics on June 30, 1998.

Features:

The game features three-dimensional rendering technology from one fixated camera angle, true Newtonian physics, and customizable units. Screen resolution as well as the limit of maximum units per player are customizable, depending only on the quality of computer hardware. The default unit limit was originally 200, which was changed to 250 in Total Annihilation: The Core Contingency—by modifying the totala.ini file in the game folder, users can increase this limit up to 500. With a binary modification of the program file and sufficient hardware, the unit limit can be increased to 5000 per team.

What makes this game different than installing the game from original CDs:

This version of Total Annihilation includes the 3.1 patch, Total Annihilation: The Core Contingency, Total Annihilation: Battle Tactics, No CD crack, 5000 unit limit, Total Annihilation Map & Mission Editor 1.0, TA Unit Editor, extra maps and missions (found from the Internet), Total Annihilation Cataclysm Map Pack with fix and the Ultimate AI.

As a note, the contents of this torrent can also be burnt onto DVD, as it comes with its own autorun and menu to install the game. It will also create the shortcuts to your desktop and start menu.

Note: If you want to remove the Ultimate AI simply move, or delete, the file:

UltimateAIUnits.ccx

The AI Unit Codes.txt will tell you the unit code of all the units the AI adds, and will also describe to you what metal/energy the AI Nukes will cost to make for the AI (basically, it makes a nuclear missile as fast as your anti-nuke, usually the nuclear missile takes longer to make). Also, my computer will be off during the night, Brisbane, Australian Eastern Standard Time (if you go to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=47 you can compare your time to mine at Brisbane) although when I shall be turning off my computer will vary, I will turn my computer off no earlier than 10:00 PM. I am writing this note so that you do not need to send a PM asking me to Seed, or to comment to Seed, as I will most likely be asleep, and won't start to seed until I am back on my Computer.
