Doctor Who - Russell Davies on The Next Doctor - Victoria Derbyshire - 18-12-2008 BBC 5 Live Radio
The Doctor Who Christmas Special got its first screening today. Various TV critics got to see "The Next Doctor" in a special showing. The rest of us will have to wait until Christmas night to watch it though. Joining David Tennant will be David Morrissey and Dervla Kirwan.
After the screening, Victoria spoke to Doctor Who Executive Producer Russell T Davies and our entertainment reporter Colin Paterson (who'd got to see it).
While the Victoria Derbyshire programme is 3 hours long, this file is only of the Doctor Who content near the very end of the programme. For continuity I left in the traffic report and a little bit of a caller snippet leading into the commentary by Russell Davies, Colin Paterson and a caller. The bitrate is 64k (exact same as transmission) for a nice compact file with is about 13 minutes long.
Warning - I do not for the life of me understand what Russell Davies could have been thinking, or to what benefit it served, but he does in fact drop quite a massive spoiler bomb very shortly in which I really wish I had not heard before watching the special. I will just say this, it appears as if us fans are in for one hell of a treat.
