W.A.S.P.'s second effort is a direct continuation from the debut. Ass kicking, ball crushing heavy metal, but this time slighly leaning into hard rock. Overall sound is a little different, more rocking and drum beat oriented. Now there's also more time to slow down with two ballads, excellent ones. When the rest of the songs are complete party songs.
Standout tracks: Again, ALL OF THEM!! "Wild Child" and "The Last Command" are classics."
Sidenote: "Cries in the Night" is a song Blackie had written when he was 18, and it was called "Mr. Cool" at that time. The record company wanted to release it, but Blackie had to change it into a little different version, and that's "Cries in the Night" as ended up on the album. Blackie wasn't happy how it turned up, but in my opinion a great song nonetheless.
Remastered version with seven bonus tracks: "Mississippi Queen" a cover by Mountain, "Savage" a single B-side, "On Your Knees, Hellion, Sleeping in the Fire, Animal and I Wanna Be Somebody" are all live bonus tracks from "Live at the Lyceum" concert '84.
