During "The Headless Children" began a new era in W.A.S.P.'s history. The album introduced a new composing style of Blackie that he has followed till today: dark, angry, moody, with lyrics of a deeper purpose. Highly political, criticism against society and religion etc. I would dare to say, no matter how much I love W.A.S.P.'s early party albums, when Blackie REALLY started to compose music is around this album. Blackie has said "When I'm on a bitch trip, I'm at my best". You can hear the difference in songs like "The Heretic", "Headless Children" or "Thunderhead". But not to worry, there are still those highly rockin' tracks like "Mean Man" and "Rebel in the F.D.G." that will kick your balls like before. Very remarkable piece of music from W.A.S.P. in the time when metal scene began to show its wear.

Standout tracks: Hmm, tough call. Let's say "Thunderhead" and "Maneater".

Sidenote: The song "Mean Man" is about Chris Holmes, because Blackie really thinks he is such a meanie. The single cover has Chris sitting on a motorcycle (or what's left of it) with a crazy grin on his face.

Remastered version with six bonus tracks: "Locomotive Breath" a Jethro Tull cover, "For Whom the Bell Tolls" a single B-side, "Lake of Fools" a single B-side, "War Cry" a single B-side, "L.O.V.E. Machine" and "Blind in Texas" are live tracks from Hammersmith '89.
