What can I say about this brilliant band without writing a book instead. Let's put it shortly. My very favourite band that changed my view of a REAL music when I was young(er). Their controversial and shocking self-titled debut came out in the era when almost every other band played girlie glam rock (not that I don't like them too), and stuttered the metal world with daring and aggressive in-your-face pure heavy metal and live performance not seen since perhaps Alice Cooper. The genius songwriting and raw voice of Blackie Lawless combined with raging guitar duels between Chris Holmes and Randy Piper blew my mind like no other. This debut delivers attitude, aggression, head banging elements and performance out of this world. Not to mention great production and razor sharp digital re-mastering. A true heavy fucking metal classic from the fine year of 1984.
Standout tracks: ALL OF THEM!! "Sleeping (in the fire)" with maybe the all time best guitar solo is the cream of the crop.
Sidenote: In the end of "On Your Knees" you can hear Blackie's thoughts about a polka song or sumthing that came out of radio during recording sessions "What the fuck was that!?" Very funny stuff that was purposedly left on the recording.
Remastered version with three bonus tracks: "Animal (fuck like a beast)" a single A-side, "Show No Mercy" a single B-side, "Paint It Black" a Rolling Stones cover.
