Formed in 1977 by vocalist/guitarist Siki Spacek, Black Death were full-on chains and leather, old-school, fist-pumping heavy metal. They gained a sizable following regionally, eventually landing a deal with Cleveland-based Auburn Records (for the metal illiterate, that's the label that also brought you Destructor, Purgatory, and Shok Paris). They were also arguably the first entirely African-American heavy metal band.
