Additional notes:

The band split apart after John K. tried to seize control of the band and turn it into his personal project. John K. will continue as Biomechanical, while the rest of the band will form their own band with a new singer. Drummer Matt C. had departed a few weeks before the rest of the line-up.

Biomechanical began producing a traditional metallic sound, laden with unadulterated thrash and modern metal in London in 2001. The founding members include vocalist John K, guitarists Chris Webb and Jamie Hunt, bassist Jon Collins and drummer Matt C, who grouped together to release their first demo “Distorted” in 2001. This demo was welcomed by encouraging acclaim, being labelled as a great starting point for a UK metal band.

With a confidence in their ability, Biomechanical powered forward with the release of the full length album “Eight Moons” in October 2003 on Revolver Records. This also received praise from the music press, with Metal Hammer describing it as amongst the most far reaching records of the year. Biomechanical quickly developed a reputation as an exciting new band within the UK music scene and were consequently handpicked to headline the second stage at the ‘Bloodstock’ festival and in November 2003 the band embarked upon their first UK headlining tour.

Following the success of “Eight Moons”, Biomechanical decided to take their orchestral-infused thrash metal to Elitist/Earache Records, signing a four album deal in November 2004. This new partnership led to the release of “Empire of the Worlds”, produced by Nevermore and Machine Head producer Andy Sneap. The assault of this record catapulted Biomechanical into a frenzy, touring alongside bands such as Stampin’ Ground and Shadows Fall in 2005 and recording a four-song session that would take them onto the airwaves of BBC radio.

As Biomechanical propelled into 2006, touring alongside label mates Decapitated, they have the clear aim of delivering their unique sound that oozes with the pleasure of old-school metal to fans across the world.
