WWE Judgment Day è un evento in pay per view della World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). La prima edizione si svolse nell'ottobre 1998, come ventiquattersimo ppv del blocco In Your House (spesso abbreviato, IYH), sigla che nella seconda metà degli anni '90 indicava i ppv WWE.

Ognuno degli IYH aveva un sottotitolo per permetterne l'identificazione; col tempo (a partire da IYH #19 - Degeneration X) tali sottotitoli passarono dall'essere semplici parole di accompagnamento a titoli di ppv, mentre quella che era la sigla principale divenne il sottotitolo, in una vera e propria inversione dei ruoli. Indicare quindi come titolo del pay per view in questione In Your House #24 - Judgment Day è tecnicamente un errore, mentre è corretto Judgment Day - In Your House.

Attualmente Judgment Day si svolge nel mese di maggio e non più in ottobre come accadde in occasione della prima messa in onda del 1998. Il motivo di tale spostamento affonda le proprie radici in un dramma che si consumò nel 1999, quando Owen Hart morì durante un tentativo di ingresso spettacolare sul ring nel corso di un evento chiamato Over the Edge, anche questo un pay per view In Your House. Per una forma di rispetto nei confronti di Owen, Over The Edge non fu mai più utilizzato come nome di ppv ed il suo posto venne preso proprio da Judgment Day. Per la WWE non fu un problema il cambio di nome perché in effetti non comportò alcun stravolgimento nei palinsesti annuali dei pay per view. Questo perché dopo la sua prima edizione del 1998 Judgment Day fu cancellato (nel 1999 infatti non andò in onda). Nel 2000 quindi vi fu l'avvicendamento con Over The Edge.

Tra il 2004 ed il 2006 Judgment Day è stato un evento esclusivo del roster di SmackDown!. A partire dall'edizione 2007 possono prendere parte all'evento lottatori di tutti e tre i roster della WWE.
