Kohan Immortal Sovereigns is a Real-time strategy game from 2001. You play as Darius Javidan, an immortal with amnesia. Luckily you start with an advisor and your trusted wife who can fill in some of the blanks:
You\'re a Kohan, an immortal race (which can be brought down by voilence at which time they are trapped inside an amulet) which has ruled over the lesser races for a very long time. Unfortunately the Kohan civilization got royally kicked some thousand years ago and thats when you lost your memory. So being the good guy that you are you obviously try to rebuild the world of Khaldun, helping the unfortunate Mareten (humans), Gauri, Drauga , Haroun etc who desperately need a despot... ehm advisor, to guide them.
The story is kind of mediocre and fairly predictable although some of the Kohans story descriptions are interesting enough. Luckily the gameplay is much better. You command companies (you choose which unit type will make up the company as well as what support units you want it to have and what hero/heroine) instead of induviduals so you won\'t have to deal with an annoying amount of micromanagement. However the economy is upkeepbased so on most maps the number of companies you can have will be limited which forces you to use tactics and strategy. Other important factors are terrain and town zones.
It\'s a quite good game. Also Kohan: Ahriman\'s Gift which was released soon afterwards where you play as the naughtier side.
Kohan 2 sucked though... instead of continuing on a promising path they simply made it like every other RTS game out there.
