That Mitchell and Webb Look Series 3 + Red Button Extras (2009) [PDTV (XviD)] preview 0

That Mitchell and Webb Look is a BAFTA award winning sketch show adapted from That Mitchell and Webb Sound, the stars' Radio 4 series. Each episode features a range of sketches, some coming from recurring characters, others as stand alone one-offs. The double-act's comedy ranges from the satirical to the strange.

Recurring sketches include Numberwang, a popular maths quiz which is almost impossible to play, and The Surprising Adventures of Sir Digby Chicken-Ceaser in which a drunk tramp thinks he is fighting crime with his sidekick Ginger.

Then there is Ted and Peter, two snooker commentators who are always looking at the more disturbing side of the game. Meanwhile, Raymond Terrific is trying to get a panel of boffins to solve the world's problems in Big Talk.

There are also the Lazy Writers, who can never be bother to do any research for the programmes they write for, and the pink jumpsuit-clad Helivets, who claim they can save any animal.

Much like in their original 2001 sketch show (The Mitchell and Webb Situation), there are also a number of sketches tackling the awful mind-numbing blandness of daytime television.

The episodes are in-frequently punctuated with a look 'behind the scenes' - in these sections Mitchell and Webb perform narrative sketches as accentuated versions of themselves (e.g. David is posh, Robert is dumb).

Episode 1 + Red Button Extra
First Broadcast: Thu 11th June 2009

Comedy sketch show starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb. There's a chance to see the world's least successful replacement for the doorbell, a game show from after the apocalypse, and Queen Victoria's unusual objection to a tree. Plus Santa's ne'er-do-well brother Russ returns to the North Pole.

Episode 2 + Red Button Extra
First Broadcast: Thu 18th June 2009

Comedy sketch show starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb. This programme reveals the true purpose of the Giant Death Ray, presents a gangland villain made of wood, and offers dating advice from a man who is almost Gary Rhodes. Plus a look back at the careers of Ted and Peter, Britain's least successful professional snooker players, in Screw Back in Anger, and an introduction to the world's least politically correct superhero.

Episode 3 + Red Button Extra
First Broadcast: Thu 25th June 2009

Comedy sketch show starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb. Mr Darcy demonstrates his prowess to Miss Bennett at freestyle disco; there's an introduction to the world's first alcoholic isotonic drink; and a carnivorous man at a vegetarian dinner party points out that the cat looks lean and gamey. Plus a new adventure for drunken super-sleuth Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar; an unnecessarily honest best man; and David and Rob find themselves in an awkward situation with the Queen.

Episode 4 + Red Button Extra
First Broadcast: Thu 2nd July 2009

Comedy sketch show starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb. The secret of the universe is revealed in a melon; a butler discovers he's had a thirty-year misunderstanding with his employer; and a soothsayer in ancient Pompeii wonders if the smell of sulphur in the air means everyone ought to do a bit more recycling. Plus, long-suffering Hennimore has to stop a giant wasp getting into a giant jam pot.

Episode 5 + Red Button Extra
First Broadcast: Thu 9th July 2009

Comedy sketch show starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb. Features a pair of cellists who want to build an airport; some bad news about toast; a bitter row about pens; and a very saintly man on top of a pole. Plus, there is the exciting police drama Bussman and Christmas, featuring an old-school cop with a jumper, a paper hat and a bit of a sherry problem. Also, the secret behind the futuristic cult of Vectron is revealed.

Episode 6 + Red Button Extra
First Broadcast: Thu 16th July 2009

Comedy sketch show starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb. Features some unusual telephone services, including all of Wagner's operas by text; some people have a bit of a problem with a giant evil robot; and Rob gives David a less-than-relaxing massage. Plus Barbieri, the 15th century's finest inventor, comes up with the tin opener, just 500 years before the invention of the tin; and two Victorian brothers find their final farewell doesn't take as long as they expected.
