This game was originally released in 1999 as competition for Mechwarrior3.
Some features of the game include:
Built in Map Editor, integrated scripting language based on C/C++ (with which totally new things are still be created), and multiplay from within game, no zone match or lobbies to mess with.
The game itself is very addictive and has a slight learning curve though the graphics aren't as flashy as newer games, I still find myself playing it to this day.
A tip to new users, the single player campaign will not prepare you for multplayer. The AI in the campaigns just stack up to fighting a real human.
A review of the game:
If you guys use your upload bandwidth instead of only downloading it would speed up everyone down the line, including you.
Take note that this game is 7 years old and it's the only game I really play, and I'm not the only one. So play online!
The MAIN resource and community that you will find for this game is http://www.sunandshadows.com - It's the only site I know frequented by anyone who actually plays, and has all the downloads for this game ever collected. If you have trouble with that website or Starsiege, you can find some other people at starsiegeplayers.com, not many but every few weeks we all still check it.
