John Humphrys asks the questions as six contenders battle it out to become the nation's Mastermind
in this series' Grand Final. (This is why there was a fifth and a sixth semi-final earlier this month.)

The subjects are the Lewis and Clark Expedition, Britain between the Wars, Russian novels 1831-1894,
Rodgers and Hart, the Ryder Cup, and American presidents of the 19th century.

There is sufficient time in this extended, hour-long programme for all the finalists to do a piece to camera
about their chosen specialist subject.



My PDTV recording was affected by reception problems at one point. I've replaced the damaged section
with a BBC iPlayer web-rip (in "high quality" Flash video, at about 1 Mbit/s) from 0:44:17 to 0:44:54.
The video and audio splices are frame-accurate, and I've balanced the volume of the audio patch.
BBC iPlayer video is always over-cropped, so I've enlarged it to fill my frame size.
