Created by crime novelist author Antonia Fraser, Jemima Shore is TV's consummately professional investigative journalist and the basis of two television series. The first aired in the UK in 1978 as part of the "Armchair Thriller" series and featuring the novel "Quiet as a Nun" with Maria Aitken in the lead role. This second version called Jemima Shore Investigates was made in to a twelve part series in 1983 and produced by Thames Television, starring Patricia Hodge as the eponymous Miss Shore. Unfortunatly the two part opener based on Fraser's "Splash Of Red" novel is currently unavailable due to rights issues.

Synopsis: Horror film producer Henry Hastings, who shares the same television production company as Jemima Shore, asks for her help when he is targeted by a crank on the set of his latest picture. Distracted by a guest appearence on 'Desert Island Discs' Jemima lets her secretary Cherry investigate this mystery until she uncovers a murder.
