After 2 years of being on twice a week, Doctor Who was moved back home to its Saturday night slot. However this time the episodes would be double length. Instead of the traditional 23-24 minute episodes, they moved to 45 minute episodes. This only lasted for this season and this format did not return until the Christopher Eccleston series began. The new season marked the 1st full season of the 6th Doctor, with Colin Baker having taken on the role for the closing story of Season 21 (The Twin Dilema), this was only the second time the role had changed hands during a season rather at the end of the last story of a season. The previous time this happened was when Patrick Troughton took over from William Hartnell for the 3rd story of Season 4 (The Power of the Daleks).

Plot (May contain spoilers for some):

The TARDIS is lured to Earth, London, 1985 by an alien distress signal. Investigating, the Doctor and Peri stumble upon an attempted bank robbery staged through the London sewers by a familiar face.
