I got this DVD from another site about a year ago. Here is the info that the original Upload had as a description:
"This is a DVD containing a recon of the 2nd Doctor Story "The Web of Fear". Someone uploaded this recon months ago as a single *.wmv file and got nothing but insults for his trouble and a couple of weeks later it disappeared. In the hope of avoiding the insults I separated the episodes and converted them to a DVD format.
This recon uses the narrrated audio release, computer enhanced telesnaps, and the handful of censor clips. I watched it and must say that they did a very good job. It also includes a low quality copy of the existing episode one. I tried to use the copy of episode one from the lost in time dvd, but couldn't do it. I was temped to just put episodes 2-6 on the disk and encourage others to get a better copy of episode 1 elsewhere, but I in the end decided that many people would prefer the dvd to be complete. (Without episode 1 the dvd would have been much smaller.)"
“The Web of Fear” is a phenomenal story – without a doubt the best story of season five – and it is all based on one simple, powerful image: Yeti loose in the London Underground. This is one of those iconic stories that is forever etched into the minds of so many viewers, be they Doctor Who fans or not. Those who originally tuned into the serial back in 1968 are now among a very privileged few, as for most of us this serial has only ever existed in the form of a single surviving episode; a narrated audio soundtrack; or, at best, a telesnap reconstruction. Nevertheless, thanks to John Cura’s telesnaps and the Restoration Team’s sterling work on the soundtrack, there is still much to be enjoyed beyond the first extant episode.
***Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart makes his first appearance in this story (but with the rank of colonel).***
