The team is in Bridgwater to help the Robinson family.
David was discharged from the army for medical reasons after being injured in Iraq. With few savings he has been forced to use his own DIY skills, only to discover that he doesn't have any.
Designer Julia Kendell and gaffer Chris Frediani are challenged with righting the wrongs of David's DIY disaster.
Episode 2 - Three-in-a-Bed Frimley
The team is in Frimley in Camberley to help the Oxford family - Lisa, Andy and son Jordan.
The Oxfords had just started a double-storey extension on their property when Lisa started getting terrible headaches. Shortly after she was diagnosed with brain cancer which left her unable to drive or walk.
Husband Andy took two years off work to nurse her and look after Jordan. There was no time or money to finish the extension and without the extra space the whole family had to share the same bed. It was time to call in DIY SOS.
Nick Knowles, designer Julia Kendell and the rest of the team turn up to complete the extension and create a fabulous bedroom for Lisa and Andy. But they don't finish there. Inspired by the plight of the family, they have a couple of extra surprises in store - and still have time to celebrate Lisa's birthday.
Episode 3 - Bowled Over in Oxford
Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team are in Oxford to help complete a bungalow extension.
The Barker family have been trying to build the extension for three years, but a run of disasters have got in their way.
Designer Julia Kendell's ambition is a kitchen/diner/lounge area. Her design theme is based on cricket, and the boys are armed with half a kilometre of tongue and groove to help her achieve her vision. It is a stunning reveal, with some original ideas and contemporary twists, but will the team be able to achieve the dream home for the Barker family?
Episode 4 - Lounging in Bradford
Nick Knowles and his skilful builders are in Bradford to renovate a lounge for Emma and her nine-year-old son Thomas.
Contemporary, warm and full of mod-cons is the brief for designer Julia Kendell. Emma spent five years saving up for her own house and ended up buying a wreck of a place knowing that her dad would help her out with the DIY.
Unfortunately, injuries from a motorbike accident flared up meaning dad couldn't help out as much as he'd promised, leaving Emma and Thomas still living with them. DIY SOS's intervention will mean they can move into their own house at long last.
Episode 5 - Caravanning In Caersws
It is a case of ratchets to the rescue as Nick Knowles and the builders tackle a wreck of a house in Caersws, Wales.
Gary and Andrea bought their cottage seven years ago with grand plans for its renovation, but have hit a succession of problems that have meant they are still living in their caravan outdoors.
The team's mission is to renovate a kitchen/lounge and stay in tune with the building's heritage, while offering the modern elements a family need from their kitchen.
Episode 6 - ‘Elping out in Essex
Nick Knowles and the team are called to the rescue of the Curry family in Halstead to solve a two year old DIY problem.
What was meant to be a simple renovation has turned into a nightmare leaving the family using a bedroom for a lounge and their two-year-old son has to make do with sleeping in what should be the lounge but is not much more than a building site.
The mission is to renovate this disaster into a fit for purpose lounge/diner. Julia Kendell's design offers a modern alternative for a wall finish and a funky way to display family photos on the wall.
