Pearl is on her phone outside Jacobs Fold she collects the post from the postman. She is arranging a pick up for the flowers. Len comes out and takes the post off her, she tells him that she has finished the flowers, he asks what time she came to bed and she tells him that she didn't. Pearl tries to blame it on Len's snoring and he tells her that she is to put her feet up as she is now a lady of leisure. Pearl tells Len that she isn't a lady of leisure out of choice and Len reminds her that she is better off without it and that no-one in their right mind would want to work for Pollard, he ushers her into the house.
Daz is throwing a bag of rubbish out at Annie's, Diane shouts that she hopes he has tied the ends together and explains to Daz that they don't want rats, she takes it off him and knots the bag. He tells her that he never thought and Diane tells him that he never does, Daz storms off leaving Diane, possibly guilty for having gone too far.
At Butlers Jack and Andy are discussing why Victoria phoned Denise, Andy says she must have thought she was doing the right thing. Andy tells Jack that Daz has been bunking off school for a couple of weeks, that he had a phone call that morning from the welfare officer. Jack tells Andy that he thought he was doing ok, and Andy tells him that he was until he moved out. Jack corrects him by telling him he means when Katie moved in. Andy tells Jack that there is nothing that he can do, reminding him that he saw the way Daz was the day before and tells Jack that the school are planning on holding Daz back a year. Jack laments that this is all they need and that Diane won't be happy.
In the Woolpack back room Louise and Diane are talking about Daz, Diane tells Louise that she isn't cut out for the motherhood business and Louise reminds her of Bernice. Diane tells her she only got through that with a wing and a prayer, and the odd bottle of gin and that now she's stuck with another two of them. Marlon enters tentatively and tells them he is just nipping over to the café, Diane tells him that while he is over there he should have a word with his wife about the night café. Marlon tells her she knows what Donna is like with a bee in her bonnet and Diane tells him he knows what it's like when she has one in hers.
