Continuing from the previous episode: Drunken Arthur gives Michelle "what for" when she and Kelvin finally get home at 2 am. They had given up the idea of using the moped to get to the dance club and ran out of money on the way home so they had to walk part of the way. Michelle phoned Sharon at the pub and asked her to deliver the message which Sharon "forgot". Sharon was miffed that Kelvin and Michelle had gone out together.
The next day (in the café) Sharon comes in while Michelle and Kelvin are planning another date. Michelle creates a scene accusing Sharon of being jealous and trying to get her in trouble with her parents by not delivering her message the night before. This ended with Michelle tossing a coke in Sharon's face just as Pete enters. Pete gruffly drags Michelle outside by the arm. Kelvin is very embarrassed by all of this leaving Sharon quite pleased that Michelle lost her temper in front of him.
Andy buys a new bicycle to get him to work and chains it to the garden fence over the road from Number Forty-Three.
Debbie continues her fitness craze with only a salad for their dinner. Before Andy leaves the house for work, they have a row it with Andy saying he can't work on that and he'll get fish-n-chips on the way to work, knocking the salad to the floor.
When he goes outside with his yellow cycling slicker and luggage bag, he finds only the chain where his new bicycle had been. Clearly this is not one of his better days.
Angie notifies Ian that the pub lunches aren't selling and she'll have to let him go.
Lou continues in her misery and pleads with Pauline to make her some rice pudding. As she is about to start on it, Ethel comes to tell her that there is an emergency at the launderette and no one is there. When Pauline arrives there, she sees Dot's note in the window that she'd gone home with one of her headaches and a machine overflowing. While Pauline mops up the overflow, Ethel goes back to Number Forty-Five to make the rice pudding treat for Lou. As the episode ends Ethel turns to see Pauline enter the back door and collapse on the kitchen floor.
