Saturday 12 April
7:45pm - 9:00pm
When this series first aired last year, many felt that it would bomb. After all, they reasoned, who'd want to watch a programme with nothing but sickly-sweet kiddies warbling away and weird variety acts involving unicycles and flaming torches? More to the point, did we need to see Simon Cowell on our screens again after months and months of The X Factor? Turns out we did - around 11 million people saw mobile-phone salesman Paul Potts reduce judge Amanda Holden - and, go on, admit it, you too - to tears with his astounding rendition of Nessun Dorma. It's horribly addictive telly - even for those of us who'd normally run screaming out of the room at the mere mention of Opportunity Knocks.
