Chapman-Whitney - Streetwalkers (1974)
After the band \"Family\" broke up in 1973, Roger Chapman and Charlie Whitney went on to record a one-off album called \"Streetwalkers\". To complete the album they recruited alumni of Family (John Wetton, Ric Grech, Poli Palmer, Jim Cregan) and King Crimson (John Wetton, Mike Giles, Boz Burrell, Ian Wallace, Mel Collins).
This album lead to a series of albums by the band called \"The Streetwalkers\". Although an excellent band in their own rite, the song writing of the Streewalkers never lived up to the quality of material on this album.
Curiously, this album was never released on compact disc. It is now catalogued under the band name \"The Streetwalkers\", charading as their self-titled first release.
Having purchased this record album when it was released in 1974, it has become both a rarity and a favourite in my collection.
