The Third Man 102 The Man Who Died Twice (9 Oct 1959) sample frame from video
After the famous 1949 film, Orson Welles transformed his character from a criminal to more of a Robin Hood in the 1951 radio series "The Lives of Harry Lime". This 1959 TV version continues that transformation, making Harry Lime a debonair international art dealer with a heart of gold, who merely has a mysterious past. The first season was a joint US/UK production, with half the episodes filmed at 20th Century-Fox in Hollywood, but the remainder were filmed for the BBC at Shepperton Studios.
In this episode, on arriving at their hotel room in San Francisco, Lime and Webster discover the dead body of a former president of a Central American country, only he was supposed to have died in a coup two years earlier.
