There are no fireworks, no convoluted conspiracy theories. This likely last X-Files "anything" is a quiet conclusion to a long venture into "belief." By separating this movie from its more exotic episodes and focusing on the human character development, the movie by itself depicts a singular story...with supernatural overtones. This is primarily a soft thriller that highlights moral and relational dilemmas with brief comical glimpses and evolving maturity on the part of Scully and Mulder. Unfortunately for most, it may not dazzle, it may explode into the original captivating and sometimes stunning mind-twisting and science fiction wonderland of past episodes. There are instead themes of moving beyond, resolutions, acceptance, and renewed faith. Seven out of Ten Stars.
