In days of old, when knights were bold, valiant young Lancelot comes to Camelot to join King Arthur's Round Table. In each episode he rights a wrong or rescues a damsel in distress, accompanied by lots of swordplay, horseplay, and scenic backgrounds. Star William Russell would later become famous in Doctor Who as companion Ian Chesterton.
In this episode, a prince in love with King Anguish's daughter Kathleen is banished from the court because he possesses nothing but the ability to write rhymes. Sir Lancelot, hearing of the young couple's plight, travels to Anguish's court to help them.
Unlike ITC's other 'Adventures of...' historicals like Robin Hood, half of the 30 episodes of The Adventures of Sir Lancelot were filmed in color, even though in 1957 they were only broadcast in black and white. This is the 12th and last of the 12 surviving color episodes.
