The Adventures of Sir Lancelot 120 Maid of Somerset (2 Feb 1957) sample frame from video
In days of old, when knights were bold, valiant young Lancelot comes to Camelot to join King Arthur's Round Table. In each episode he rights a wrong or rescues a damsel in distress, accompanied by lots of swordplay, horseplay, and scenic backgrounds. Star William Russell would later become famous in Doctor Who as companion Ian Chesterton.
In this episode, a young girl seeks Sir Lancelot's aid. An evil monarch, King Meliot, is selling the young men of the village of Cheddar into slavery.
Unlike ITC's other 'Adventures of...' historicals like Robin Hood, half of the 30 episodes of The Adventures of Sir Lancelot were filmed in color, even though in 1957 they were only broadcast in black and white. This is the 5th of the 12 surviving color episodes.
