Version 3.25 Release Notes
Bug fixes in this version:
-- The program would sometimes fail to recover from an "Radar Not Available" condition. Thank you to tmabell for helping to isolate this.
-- Closing the loop control with the X button would prevent it from being re-displayed when the Loop button is pressed on some platforms. We've added a Hide button to the control. See the "Changes in this version" section below for more information.
-- The color key would sometimes be displayed when switching window modes regardless of the "Show color key at startup" setting.
-- The program didn't remember its previous window mode correctly when the mode was switched and restored (i.e. Oval to Mini restores to Rect mode).
New Features in this version:
The user may select frames to skip during loops. Press the left mouse button down in the desired frame indicator in the loop control panel to toggle skipping or un-skipping that frame.
When a frame is selected to be skipped, that frame indicator turns red. The skipped frames are tracked to account for a new image becoming available and frames being shufflled.
If the user has elected to enable a delay at the end of the loop, the last un-skipped frame is treated as the end of the loop and the delay will occur normally.
Frames are not skipped when the loop control Step Forward or Step Backward buttons are used to display frames individually.
-- Save Options For New Releases
One of the most requested features for this program is the ability to preserve user-selected options when a new version is released. As of this version, that will be possible.
User options are saved automatically when the program is closed. All program options are saved.
When a (future) new version is installed, it will check for the existence of the saved files, loading all of the user-selected options into the new version.
In addition to the user options, all markers, scan zones, customized site zip codes, palettes, and window positions are saved as well.
If you intend to uninstall your current version, take care to avoid telling the uninstaller to remove all saved files.
That will ensure that the saved files can be restored when the new version is installed.
Also, of course, install to the same location as the previous version.
-- Custom Warning Polygon Colors
Right-click in any of the color boxes on the Warnings Legend dialog (ALT-W) to bring up a Color Chooser.
If you select a color and press the Ok button in that dialog, the selected color is displayed in the color box for that warning type. and the history images are re-processed to reflect the color change.
Take care to avoid pure white (RGB 255,255,255), that background color is dropped out of the warnings layer.
Custom warning polygon colors are saved when the program exits, and loaded when the program starts or a new version is installed.
-- Hide button on the loop control
The loop control now has a "hide" button. When the control is hidden, the loop continues but the control is simply hidden.
Pressing the Loop button or ALT-L will re-display the control. Pressing Loop or ALT-L again will start the loop (or stop it if it is running).
-- New context menu in Mini Mode
Right-click on the Mini window to bring up the menu.
As before, there is a checkbox entry to toggle keeping the Mini mode window on top of all other windows or allowing it to be hidden by other windows.
In addition, I've added Restore, Minimize, and Exit items that match the functions of the buttons in the panel.
That will allow users to activate the button functions without having to press the Space bar to expand the panel first.
