Jody O\\\'Connell is a ten year old boy whose widowed mother runs a boardinghouse in Buckskin, Montana druing the 1880\\\'s and tells of their friendship with the town marshal played by Mike Road. We see life in this frontier town through the eyes of Jody. The stories arise from the people who came to stay in the boardinghouse. A little Waltonesque for my tastes. I would have preferred the child to be a psychotic killer who murders his mother then is pusued and gunned down by the marshal. Still, you can\\\'t have everything.
