This project is meant to demonstrate both the possibilities
and viability of a full-blown, multi-episode video series based
on the classic, pre-RE4 RESIDENT EVIL videogames. It is built
from existing fanedits for the simple reason that we do not
own many of the videogames used to compile this project.
This was done for the sake of expediency, not to demean or
"rip off" (as it were) the efforts of these individuals. The
major faneditors, those who inspired the general framework for
our project, are given credit in the series main titles. Full
fanedit credits for all footage used, as well as inspiration
for some of our editoral decisions, is given at the end of
each season of our series edit.
The recent movie RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION has reawakened
intense fan interest in one of the most enduring of the
videogame industry's sagas. Many remember its origins and
how far it has come. For many others, though, this is their
first introduction to the epic story of the horrors unleashed
by Umbrella Corporation's T and G viruses. From where did
they come? How did it all begin? More importantly, how did
it come to that horrible event seen at the start of the movie,
where an entire American city of 100,000 people was nuked in
order to keep a rumored outbreak from spreading any further?
The story begins in the Arklay Mountains in the summer of 1998,
aboard a express passenger train known as the Ecliptic Express.
It never reached its intended destination. Frantic radio
calls about it being attacked enroute, made by a terrified
engineer who apparently died during those calls, have prompted
nearby Raccoon City to dispatch one of its own police special
forces teams to the scene. This is Bravo Team of the Raccoon
Police Department's Special Tactics And Rescue force (or
RPD STARS for short), led by Captain Enrico Marini, which is
sent by helicopter to the train's last known location. Going
along on her first mission is a new recruit - a 19-year-old
paramedic named Rebecca Chambers. She is obstensibly the
least significant member of the group ... but, as events
quickly unfold, will prove to be the most important ... and
she will bear first witness to the unfolding of a horror that
will claim the lives of many before all is said and done.
