When a Lupin impersonator is arrested for shoplifting in Tokyo, dozens of other copycats converge on the city to clear the name of Arsene Lupin III. The real Lupin is in town too, both to watch the show and to steal a mysterious item called the Ice Cube. But one of those impostors also has designs on the Cube, and he might just be good enough to beat the original at his own game.

Yasuo, un giovane barista che si trasforma, all’occorrenza, in un abile ladruncolo, sta passando un brutto periodo: è depresso e insoddisfatto, anche perché la sua fidanzata, Yukiko, una valida giornalista televisiva, l’ha lasciato. Per dare una svolta “eroica” alla sua vita, Yasuo si ispira al suo mito, Lupin III, e si lancia in una impresa degna appunto di Lupin: rubare un enorme diamante grezzo, detto il “cubo di ghiaccio”, e regalarlo a Fujiko (che si è, opportunamente, alleata con lui).
