Property boss Chek Whyte is tonight's Mr Moneybags, who goes under cover on a hunt for deserving causes in Salford. First, though, we meet Whyte on his yacht in Monaco and get a tour of his loudly opulent stately home, which leads to my favourite quote of the week, as Whyte announces: "This is the library . . . them books cost [appalled voice] ??200 per foot." In run-down Salford he takes up digs in the "forgotten triangle" where the streets are lined with boarded-up houses and the threat of demolition hangs over what remains. The irony of a property mogul bumping up against the grim underbelly of redevelopment adds another dimension to what's already a touching programme. If you fancy a bit of a weep, this series can be relied on to produce an emotional climax, and this week is no exception.
